Little Sleep
As reported by the Artistic Gymnastics Federation of Russia, Vika's performance on the final day of Event Finals is a result of a lack of sleep.
In the next morning, Vika didn't feel well and didn't want to go to the competition, something that only happens when she is very tired. In the end, Vika did win a Bronze medal in the Floor Exercise despite some pain in her hand. Overall, Vika is proud of her results! Her main goal was to win the All Around Finals, and she did with a Gold! Event Final Results
Today was the last day of the Event Finals and Vika competed on the Balance Beam and the Floor Exercise. Vika won the Bronze medal in the Floor Exercise final! Unfortunately due to two falls, Vika did not win a medal on the Balance Beam final.
However, overall Vika's performance at the Youth Olympic Games has been brilliant and we congratulate her for winning THREE GOLD Medals and one Bronze Medal! As always, no matter the outcome, we all support Vika and are very proud of her. You can see Vika's Vault and Uneven Bars performance from yesterday below: You can also see the Event Final Competition video at the Youth Olympic Games website! Vika Wins Two More Gold Medals
![]() Russian star Viktoria Komova won two more gold medals Saturday at the 1st Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Komova, who won the all-around final Thursday with a record 61.250, was unbeatable again on vault and uneven bars. Her difficulty was far superior on vault, where she performed a Yurchenko 2 1/2 (6.5 Difficulty) and a Yurchenko double (5.8). Silver medalist Maria Vargas (Spain) and bronze medalist Carlotta Ferlito (Italy) both performed vaults of Yurchenko-full (5.0) and Yurchenko layout (4.4). On uneven bars, Komova hit her feet on the mat after her Pak salto but still floated away with the title, performing her trademark inside Stalder to Shaposhnikova-half mount, followed by a layout Jaeger; inside Stalder, inside Stalder-full to Tkatchev to Pak; and full-out dismount. China's Tan Sixin matched Komova's 6.5 Difficulty score on uneven bars, but again was penalized heavily for execution (7.625). Sweden's Jonna Adlerteg performed cleanly for the bronze, throwing elgrip giants into a Jaeger and dismounting with a double layout. Credit: International Gymnast Magazine.
